Village Of The Damned Meets The Lady From Shanghai

Halfway through November and there are two predominate inspirations at work in my latest Neo-Noir…

The 1960 sci-fi-horror film “Village of the Damned” -- The one where all the inhabitants of a rural British village suddenly fall unconscious…and Orson Welles’ 1947 sea-noir, “The Lady from Shanghai” starring Rita Hayworth, from which I’ve derived some very surreal "nautical" inspiration…

Add in figure likeness inspiration from Christopher Lee…or is he looking more like Peter Cushing? And the beautiful unconscious Stepford wife soaking up some burnt umber and yellow ochre undertones at the moment…

Sir Christopher Lee - 92 years young

Set those against some psychedelic background music by Chesterfield Kings and Dandelion and you’ll have a small glimpse of what I’m up to….
