"Desecration Smile" - Acrylic on Linen - Higgins (work in progress)

Working this week on the right half of a new noir painting. “Desecration Smile” is my homage to downtown LA.  Influences include Bunker Hill’s Angels Flight and Chinatown’s Psychic Reader building.  A mysterious scene on the left half is still under construction…thinking about the LA River...Glynn Judd’s graffiti and Echo Park after dark... The title was easy. It belongs to LA’s own RHCH and beautifully sums up the City of Angels.
